Veterinary Laboratory starts functioning as National Rabies Referral Laboratory

The Veterinary Laboratory in Dhangadhi has been designated as the National Rabies Referral Laboratory. The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development has tasked the lab with collecting samples nationwide, conducting tests, and researching rabies prevention. Previously, its scope was limited to nine districts in Sudurpaschim Province. The lab is upgrading its equipment and workforce to perform advanced tests like RT-PCR and FAT, while also offering 24-hour emergency services.
