US President Donald Trump announced that a Memorandum of Understanding to end the US-Iran war is nearing completion, which includes the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. The agreement is subject to final approval by international negotiators. The announcement followed discussions with leaders from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Pakistan, Jordan, Egypt, Turkiye, and Bahrain, as well as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The war, launched on February 28, has seen active fighting largely paused since April 8.
