Lumbini reducing number of ministries to eight

The Lumbini Province Government plans to reduce the number of ministries from 12 to eight as part of its administrative reform priorities for the fiscal year 2026/27. The government will also focus on modernizing agriculture by formulating a Provincial Agriculture Act and implementing a “one local unit, one organic/local crop” program. Initiatives to promote entrepreneurship, empower women, and develop tourism through an integrated digital platform are also outlined, including the development of the “Silver Triangle” tourism product and trekking routes.
