US Africa Command Conducts Further Airstrikes Against ISIL Fighters in Nigeria

The US military’s Africa Command (AFRICOM) conducted further airstrikes against ISIL fighters in northeastern Nigeria, in coordination with the Nigerian government. No personnel were harmed in the strikes, which aimed to weaken the terrorist group’s ability to plan attacks. This action follows the recent death of a second-tier ISIL leader, Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, in a joint operation.
