169 pilgrims arrive in four days en route to Kailash Mansarovar

The pilgrimage season to Kailash Mansarovar has begun, with 169 pilgrims arriving in Humla over the past four days via flights from Nepalgunj to Simkot and onward to Hilsa. Of the arrivals since May 13, 147 are Indian nationals and 22 are from other countries. Some travelers were unable to proceed due to a lack of permits, but officials anticipate an increase in pilgrim numbers following the reopening of the Hilsa route after COVID-19 restrictions.
