Nepal’s economy is projected to expand by 3.85 percent in the current fiscal year, with the total economy reaching Rs. 66 trillion and per capita national income rising to 1,535 US dollars. While the agriculture sector is expected to contribute 24 percent to GDP, paddy production is estimated to decline. Public debt has reached Rs. 2.878 trillion, but remittance inflow increased by 37.7 percent, and foreign exchange reserves are sufficient for 18.5 months of imports. However, the trade deficit increased by 11.2 percent, posing a challenge.
