Nepal yet to make sufficient progress to exit air safety list, says EU Ambassador
European Union Ambassador to Nepal, Véronique Lorenzo, stated that Nepal has not made sufficient progress to be removed from the EU air safety list. She emphasized that while Nepal's new government frequently raises the issue, the EU's concern lies with the overall safety oversight mechanism, not just aircraft origin. An assessment in 2023 found Nepal lacking in progress on its corrective action plan, with slow implementation of reforms needed in continuous training, certification systems, and oversight functions.
