Minister for Agriculture, Forests and Environment Geeta Chaudhary stated that the Global Gathering of Pastoralist Women aims to strengthen commitments towards recognizing the rights and dignity of women herders and livestock keepers. Organized by ICIMOD with FAO's technical assistance, the event seeks to amplify pastoralist women's voices and address issues concerning their livelihoods, which are interconnected with food supply, biodiversity, and cultural heritage. The Minister assured that the concerns of pastoralist women would be integrated into national planning and development agendas.
