Samsung Electronics chip employees are set to receive average bonuses of $338,000 under a tentative deal between management and labour unions, averting a planned strike. The agreement introduces a new bonus pool for the semiconductor division, equivalent to 12 percent of operating profit, to be paid in stock and cash. Some shareholders have vowed legal action, arguing the profit-linked bonuses were not approved by a shareholder resolution.
