Lumbini Province Assembly Discusses Annual Policy and Program, Introduces Tharu Community Bill

The Lumbini Provincial Assembly has begun formal discussions on the annual policy and program for the fiscal year 2083/084. The assembly also presented the 'Bill to Provide for the Protection and Promotion of Customary Practices of the Tharu Community, 2083,' citing the need for legal provisions to protect and promote the community's ancient customs and traditions. The Tharu community constitutes a significant population in Lumbini Province.
