The Security Printing Center has clarified that a viral video showing a Smart Driving License QR code redirecting to a shopping website is due to a misunderstanding and lack of digital literacy, not a technical flaw. Niraj Dahal, Security Design and VDP Manager, explained that the QR codes function as designed, with search results for unrecognized numeric inputs being a byproduct of Google's search engine. A dedicated verification system is in use by authorities, and a public browser-based system is under development.
