Canadian Tests Positive for Hantavirus After Cruise Ship Voyage

Health officials in British Columbia, Canada, confirmed a Hantavirus infection in a Canadian who traveled on the cruise ship MV Hondius, bringing the total related infections to 11, with three deaths. The individual has mild symptoms and has not been in public contact since returning. Health officials stated that Hantavirus does not have the potential to cause an epidemic like respiratory viruses.
