Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle will present the budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84 in a joint meeting of the federal parliaments on Friday, May 29, which is also Republic Day. The budget is based on the Rastriya Swanatra Party's commitment papers, a 100-point reform agenda, and suggestions from lawmakers. The government aims for a more transparent and result-focused budget, with the National Planning Commission setting a ceiling of Rs 1890 billion.
