Number of cooperatives reaches 32,375; share capital worth Rs 143.29 billion- Economic Survey

The Economic Survey for fiscal year 2082/83 indicates that as of mid-March 2026, 32,325 cooperatives were registered, mobilizing Rs 102.57 billion in savings and employing 82,216 individuals. A total of 19,903 cooperatives are affiliated with the Cooperative and Poverty-related Management Information System (COPOMIS). The National Cooperative Regulatory Authority has licensed 834 organizations, with three of the 23 declared problematic cooperatives liquidated, while the remaining 20 are pending asset management and liability settlement.
