The U.S. Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Customs and Border Protection reported 12 consecutive months with no migrant releases at the U.S.-Mexico border. Officials cited historically low levels of crossings and apprehensions, with Border Patrol recording 8,943 apprehensions in April, a 94% drop from the monthly average during the Biden administration. The agencies also reported increases in drug seizures and actions targeting forced labor and counterfeit goods.
