Opposition Leader Urges Speaker Election Before Budget

Shalikram Jammakattel, Chief Opposition Party Leader of the Bagmati Province Assembly, urged the government to prioritize the election of a Speaker before presenting the policy and program and budget, calling the prolonged vacancy shameful. He pledged the opposition's cooperation in electing a Speaker, warning of strong resistance if the issue is ignored or if partisan discrimination is evident in the budget. Jammakattel also criticized the government's administrative restructuring plans, particularly the merger of agriculture and forestry ministries, and accused the current government of neglecting programs initiated during his tenure.
