Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle is presenting the budget for the upcoming Fiscal Year 2026/27, prioritizing good governance, economic reform, connectivity, human capital development, and enhancement of soft power. The budget aims to implement good governance by enhancing digital public service delivery and making investigations into corruption more result-oriented. The government has received a ceiling of Rs. 1890 billion for the budget, which is lower than the current fiscal year's budget. The Finance Ministry has signaled that the salary of government employees would be raised and the income tax ceiling is likely to go up.
