Phur Diki Sherpa, 51, is preparing for a 24-hour speed ascent of Lhotse (8,516 meters) in the 2026 spring climbing season. She aims to complete a round-trip from base camp to summit and back within a single day. Sherpa, the first Nepali solo woman to summit Mount Everest in 2019, is dedicating this expedition to her late father, Ang Nima Sherpa, and his friend, Eman Singh Gurung. Her extensive climbing record includes numerous peaks, and she aims to inspire women worldwide by demonstrating that age and hardship are not barriers to achieving extreme goals.
