Honey production declines in Chitwan

Honey production in Chitwan district has decreased by over 16 percent this year compared to last year, with a total of 450 metric tonnes produced against 540 metric tonnes previously. Sujan Amgain, Chief of the Beekeeping Development Centre in Bhandara, attributed the decline to unseasonal rain, which affected the production of mustard and chiyuri. Consequently, only 30 percent of beekeepers harvested honey from mustard and chiyuri farms this year, a significant reduction from the normal 70 percent.
