India Bans Most Silver Imports to Cut Spending and Ease Rupee Pressure

The Indian government has banned the import of most silver types to reduce expenditure and ease pressure on the rupee. Pure silver bars and semi-finished silver items are now in the "restricted" category, accounting for over 90 percent of past imports.
