President Ramchandra Paudel appointed Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma as the 33rd Chief Justice of Nepal, following unanimous endorsement by the Parliamentary Hearing Committee. Dr. Sharma, recommended by the Constitutional Council, breaks the tradition of appointing based solely on seniority. He is expected to serve a full six-year term, completing his tenure in 2032, as he will turn 65 in 2035.
