British climber Kenton Cool scales Everest for record 20th time

British mountaineer Kenton Cool has achieved a historic international climbing record by summiting Mount Everest for the 20th time. The 53-year-old reached the summit with Sherpa guide Dorje Gyalzen Sherpa, who completed his 24th Everest ascent. Cool, who first climbed Everest in 2004, previously became the first British climber to summit Nuptse, Everest, and Lhotse in a single season in 2013 and later summited Lhotse within 29 hours of reaching the top of Everest in 2021.
