Mahabir Pun

Member of Parliament Mahabir Pun has called on the government to immediately utilize the Rural Telecommunication Fund, which holds approximately 16 billion rupees, to expand communication services in rural areas. Pun stated that the government's failure to spend these accumulated funds is depriving rural citizens of essential communication facilities. He also demanded an end to the taxi registration syndicate in Kathmandu Valley, citing population growth and a lack of new permits.

Member of Parliament Mahabir Pun has alleged significant financial manipulation and corruption in the distribution of taxi black plates, claiming an illegal charge of approximately 1.5 million rupees is imposed on operators. Speaking in the House of Representatives, Pun stated that this practice, alongside high import duties, makes taxi ownership excessively expensive and exploits drivers. He also emphasized the need for dedicated research and government funding to address the national issue of monkey menace.
