Iran Executes Two for Armed Rebellion, Links to Separatist Groups Amidst War
Iran has executed two men, Ramin Zaleh and Karim Maroufpour, convicted of armed rebellion and membership in "separatist terrorist groups." The judiciary stated they were involved in armed attacks and assassination plots in western Iran, and were trained to become "leaders in the unrest." These executions are the latest in a series of capital punishments carried out by Iran since the start of the Middle East war.
