Nepal-based startup AnK has launched an Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) platform to provide remote access to high-performance GPU infrastructure for AI startups and students. Co-founder Amit Regmi stated that the facility, located in Sipadol, Bhaktapur, currently operates 19 high-performance systems to address the challenge of accessing costly computing resources for AI model training and research.

  • The AnK platform allows users to rent GPU infrastructure remotely at affordable rates, enabling AI model training, engineering simulations, and computational research.
  • The infrastructure initially developed for AnK's own mechanical simulation AI models was expanded into a commercial service due to demand from startups and students.
  • The company's computing infrastructure is distributed across Nepal and Japan, with 19 devices in Nepal including NVIDIA RTX 5090, RTX 5080, and RTX 3090 GPUs, alongside two Mac Mini servers.
  • In Japan, AnK operates four DGX Spark Systems designed for enterprise-level AI workloads.
  • The total value of AnK's computing infrastructure is estimated to be over Rs 30 million.
