Muslims Celebrate Bakra Eid with Prayers and Animal Sacrifice
Muslims across Nepal are celebrating Bakra Eid (Idul Zoha), the second major festival of the community, with prayers and religious rituals. The festival commemorates Prophet Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail in obedience to Allah, a tradition continued through animal sacrifice and distribution of meat. This year's celebration coincides with the final rituals of the Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca, where over 1.7 million faithful participated in symbolically stoning the devil.
