Communications and Information Minister Vikram Timilsina has proposed the Film Bill-2025 for consideration in the House of Representatives, aiming to modernize the film sector and align it with federal structures and new technologies. However, opposition lawmakers have criticized the bill, arguing it centralizes power and is not federal-aligned.

The play 'Earth 2.0 Loading' is set to be staged at Gandharva Theatre in Pokhara from May 28 to 31 to mark World Environment Day. Writer and director Paribartan Karki stated the play focuses on earth conservation and environmental awareness, presented in a comedic style for audiences of all ages, especially students.

The film 'Roll No. 1' is set to premiere this Friday, exploring the psychological impact of parental pressure on children and advocating for independent interests. Actor Mukun Bhusal stated that the film challenges the societal notion that only top-ranking students are intelligent, emphasizing the need for parental psychology to change. Actor Sushank Mainali added that the film illustrates how subjects learned under pressure are not retained long-term and that pursuing one's chosen field leads to greater success.

Director Naveen Subba stated that his film 'Mitjyu' exposes various societal layers, including political, social, economic, and family aspects. He asserted that the film's political predictions align with current Nepali politics, symbolically indicating the end of old parties and the emergence of new thinking. Subba also praised the performances of actresses Teriya Magar, Dayahang Rai, and Saugat Malla.
