International Mountain Film Festival Kicks Off in Kathmandu

The International Mountain Film Festival (KIMFF) commenced in Kathmandu with the premiere of 'Shape of Momos,' directed by Tribeni Rai. Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Khadak Raj Paudel inaugurated the event, highlighting the significance of film in storytelling and cultural celebration. The festival will feature over 50 films from 29 countries over five days.

The festival, running until May 31, is being held at QFX Chhaya Center in Thamel.
KIMFF includes a Nepal Panorama section dedicated to local filmmakers.
A live pitching session for nine South Asian documentary projects preceded the inauguration.
The festival aims to foster creativity and sensitivity towards important stories.
An international jury and a Nepal Panorama jury will evaluate the films.
