The United Nations has declared a state of “global water bankruptcy.” To address this, a holistic approach is needed, treating the water cycle as shared infrastructure and reshaping investments and governance. This includes retaining water in natural environments through forest and wetland protection, alongside traditional infrastructure investments to build resilience against climate change.
