UN ECOSOC President Lok Bahadur Thapa convened a Special Meeting on “Safeguarding Energy and Supply Flows: Supporting global development through international cooperation.” Thapa stated that disruptions in energy and supply flows are affecting industries, markets, and daily lives, presenting not only an energy challenge but also a development and financing challenge. He stressed the need to strengthen development cooperation, protect the vulnerable, preserve trade networks, and accelerate investments in sustainable energy systems.
