WHO Declares International Emergency As Ebola Outbreak Kills More Than 80 In DR Congo

The World Health Organization has declared an international health emergency due to an Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo, which has killed over 80 people. The Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention reported 88 deaths and 336 suspected cases of the hemorrhagic fever caused by the Bundibugyo strain, for which there is no vaccine. Doctors Without Borders is preparing a large-scale response to the rapidly spreading outbreak, which has also caused a death in neighboring Uganda.
