Education sector, sports infrastructure and high-voltage transmission lines secure major fiscal shares

Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle presented the federal budget for Fiscal Year 2026/27, allocating Rs 218.30 billion to the education sector and Rs 286.48 billion to infrastructure and urban development. The budget also includes Rs 70 billion for energy corridors and substations, aiming for the completion of the Hetauda–Dhalkebar transmission line. A Rs 4.03 billion allocation targets sports infrastructure, including upgrades to 10 football venues and the construction of eight cricket stadiums.
