The Council of Ministers meeting on Monday did not decide on the appointment of the Securities Board of Nepal chairman due to market concerns. Prime Minister Balen Shah, unconvinced by the recommendation committee's shortlist, has asked for a re-evaluation of all 47 candidates to ensure qualified individuals are appointed and to avoid controversy. The delay in appointing a chairman has stalled policy and administrative work at the Securities Board.
