Minister for Information and Communication Dr. Bikram Timilsina announced the government's focus on media reform, digital governance, and expanding telecommunication services, especially in remote areas. The government plans to strengthen the Press Council Nepal, establish Digital Work Hubs, and improve internet and telephone access nationwide. Initiatives include upgrading government websites, integrating services into the Nagarik App, and reviewing regulations to boost internet coverage. Nepal also aims to become a regional technology hub with plans for digital parks and data centers, while addressing connectivity issues in remote districts and upgrading 4G services with a long-term vision for 5G implementation.
