Minister for Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation, Biraj Bhakta Shrestha, has stated that reservoir-based projects are a high priority for the government, emphasizing their importance for Nepal’s long-term energy security and economic transformation. Speaking after inspecting the Kulekhani Hydropower Project, he highlighted that these projects are crucial for electricity generation, water management, flood control, irrigation, and tourism. Minister Shrestha also directed the Nepal Electricity Authority to prepare an integrated development model for reservoir projects and attract investments.
