Govt. distinguishes ride-hailing vs ride-sharing service, sets fare limit
The government is establishing fare thresholds for ride-hailing services in Nepal, differentiating between ride-hailing and ride-sharing. The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport has drafted standards setting maximum fares at Rs 25 per kilometer for two-wheelers and Rs 55 for four-wheelers, with potential nighttime or remote location surcharges. Companies can charge a 10 percent commission and a minimum fare for short distances.
