Auditor General flags transfer and misuse of Nepal Trust land

The Office of the Auditor General has raised concerns over the transfer and private use of hundreds of ropanis of Nepal Trust land. A Cabinet decision in 2007 allowed trust land in Kathmandu to be transferred to tenants, violating legal provisions. The report indicates that tenants and their successors have had land registered in their names, and the trust has failed to investigate or reclaim ownership.
