UN chief welcomes extension of Lebanon-Israel ceasefire
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres welcomed the announcement of a 45-day extension of the cessation of hostilities between Lebanon and Israel. Guterres reaffirmed the UN's support for efforts to end hostilities and alleviate suffering on both sides of the Blue Line. He urged all actors to respect the cessation of hostilities and comply with international law, and committed the UN to supporting diplomatic efforts to implement Security Council Resolution 1701.
