Israel and Lebanon have agreed to extend their existing ceasefire by 45 days following US-mediated talks, the US State Department confirmed on Friday. Despite the ceasefire extension, hostilities continue in southern Lebanon between Israeli forces and Hezbollah. Lebanese authorities reported that at least nine people were killed in Israeli strikes on Friday, with dozens injured.
