The government has begun returning savings to small depositors affected by problematic cooperatives, with 378 depositors receiving refunds on the first day. The Office of the Problematic Cooperative Management Committee reported that refunds were distributed to depositors from Kantipur, Shiva Shikhar Multipurpose, and Pashupati Cooperatives. Around 76,000 depositors are owed nearly Rs. 46 billion, and the government is also accelerating loan recovery efforts to support the refund process.
