Sajilman Shakya, 42, has been bedridden for two years after being electrocuted in the swimming pool of Hotel Square. His family filed a case against the hotel operators for criminal offense and compensation after the hotel initially agreed to cover treatment expenses but later ignored them. The Lalitpur District Court acquitted the operators of the criminal offense, and the compensation case is now in the Consumer Court, where the hotel is reportedly postponing hearings. The family has spent over two crore rupees on his home treatment.
