Lokman Khatri, 26, has been arrested by the Human Trafficking Investigation Bureau on charges of defrauding a victim of approximately $42,000 by promising migration to the United States. Khatri initially offered a UK visit visa for 2.5 million rupees, later demanding 4.5 million rupees for a US journey. After collecting a total of 6,525,780 rupees, he facilitated an illegal route through multiple countries to the US, where the victim was arrested for illegal entry, detained for 14 months, and subsequently deported to Nepal. The victim filed a complaint, leading to Khatri's arrest.
