The government plans to establish a sovereign wealth fund by utilizing foreign currency reserves and prioritize artificial intelligence, clean energy, digital infrastructure, and financial sector reform in the upcoming fiscal year 2026/27. Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle announced plans to develop Nepal as a regional technical hub, issue diaspora and clean energy bonds, and establish an AI factory. Efforts will be made to lift Nepal out of the grey list and improve its sovereign credit rating.
