FNJ Kathmandu Objects to Court Order to Remove Online News Content

The Kathmandu branch of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has objected to an interim order from the Kathmandu District Court directing the removal of news content from BimaPost.com. The FNJ stated that the order to delete news reports and comments interferes with press freedom and criminalizes news content, which is inconsistent with democratic values. The court order followed publications alleging former CNI president Bishnu Agrawal's involvement in customs and VAT fraud related to vehicle imports.
