The Supreme Court has issued an interim order preventing the arrest of former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and his wife Arzu Rana Deuba in a money laundering investigation. The court found that the Department of Money Laundering Investigation and Kathmandu District Court did not follow proper legal procedures when seeking and granting the arrest warrant, stating the process appeared non-compliant with prevailing laws.

A probe committee has recommended departmental action against 10 police personnel, including a Superintendent of Police, in connection with the death of 23-year-old Shreekrishna BK while in custody at the Area Police Office in Khurkot, Sindhuli. The committee, led by Deputy Inspector General Dinesh Kumar Acharya, suggested various disciplinary measures ranging from reprimands to demotion.

Accused Prem Tharu is facing two separate cases in Kathmandu District Court for large-scale theft and money laundering. Medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai was released from custody on Tuesday after the Parsa District Court issued an order for his general release. Police had filed cybercrime and offenses against the state charges against Prasai, who was arrested on May 18. Separately, the CIAA filed a case against three individuals for contradictory testimony in a bribery case, and armed police seized marijuana from a Saptakoshi River island.

The Security Printing Center has dismissed claims that the QR code on smart driving licenses is flawed, stating that a viral video showing it redirecting to a shopping site is due to a misunderstanding and lack of digital literacy. According to Niraj Dahal, the center asserts that the QR codes function as designed, with only an Application ID publicly accessible on the front QR and the carrier's name on the back QR, while sensitive information remains encrypted.

The Supreme Court has ordered authorities to submit a written explanation within 24 hours regarding the arrest of medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai, responding to a habeas corpus petition. The court also directed that Prasai should not be kept in detention beyond Sunday if the investigation is not completed, and if no case is filed, he must be released.
