The expansion of the Suryabinayak–Dhulikhel road section under the Araniko Highway, a 16-kilometre project to upgrade the stretch into a six-lane roadway, remains incomplete after three years. Despite overall physical progress reaching around 70 percent, delays attributed to material shortages, rising costs, monsoon disruptions, and utility shifting have made the original completion deadline unlikely. Commuters continue to face dust, mud, and traffic congestion, with ongoing work on the carriageway, service lanes, drainage, bridges, culverts, and underpasses.
