Inquiry committee formed to study royalty, copyright and intellectual property

The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has formed a five-member inquiry committee, headed by Laxman Bidari, to study issues related to music royalty, copyright, and intellectual property. The committee, formed after the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers drew attention to the matter, will investigate intellectual property theft, copyright infringement, unauthorized use, and related issues involving creators and rights holders. It is mandated to submit a report with recommendations within 10 days.
