NAIMA Flags Lack of Clear EV Testing Standards, Warns of Market Confusion in Nepal

The Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association (NAIMA) has expressed concern over the lack of clear national standards for electric vehicle (EV) motor capacity testing and certification, which has led to market confusion. NAIMA stated that Nepal has not yet established the necessary institutional testing systems and technical procedures for proper EV evaluation. The association has urged the government to introduce clearer regulatory arrangements and emphasized that imported EVs are based on official manufacturer specifications.
