Senior-most Judge Sapana Malla Pradhan on Leave for 20 Days

Senior-most Judge Sapana Malla Pradhan has taken a 20-day leave after Chief Justice Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma assumed office at the Supreme Court. Judge Pradhan had approved the leave prior to Sharma's assumption of duties. Pradhan had been serving as Acting Chief Justice since April 1, 2025, following the retirement of the previous Chief Justice. She had previously called a full court meeting after the Constitutional Council recommended Sharma for Chief Justice, leading to Sharma not sitting on the bench until assuming his official role.
