Labor approvals for foreign jobs rise significantly in FY 2025/26

The number of Nepali workers obtaining labor approval for foreign employment has increased significantly in fiscal year 2025/26, with 690,000 workers receiving approval and 524,000 renewing permits. This marks a rise from the previous fiscal year, which saw 640,000 approvals and 317,063 renewals. By mid-March of the current fiscal year, 5.516 million electronic passports had been distributed, indicating sustained demand for both passports and labor approvals due to Nepalis seeking overseas employment.
